Dear colleagues,

The Russian Academy of Sciences, the Department of Medical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Main Medical Directorate of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Antithrombotic Forum, with the support of the Russian Society of Cardiology, are organizing the IV All-Russian Congress Thrombosis Day in Russia – 2026.

The event will be held in a hybrid format on October 10 and 13, 2026, in Moscow.

The date of October 13 is not accidental – on this day the world celebrates World Thrombosis Day, established by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) to draw attention to the problem of thrombosis, its prevention, and treatment. Thrombosis remains one of the leading causes of mortality and disability. More than 10 million new cases of venous thromboembolism are registered annually worldwide, 60% of them occur during or after hospitalization. The epidemic of COVID-19 has made the situation even worse, doubling the risk of thrombosis in patients who have recovered from the coronavirus infection. Today, one of four deaths in Russia is directly related to thrombosis and its complications.

The scientific program of the IV All-Russian Congress Thrombosis Day in Russia – 2026 will include presentations of Russian experts who are leading specialists in the field of antithrombotic therapy: professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences, corresponding members, and members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Speakers will present the latest data from fundamental and clinical research and discuss relevant questions in the field of pathogenesis of thrombosis, as well as modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of thrombotic complications in patients with various profiles, including cardiac, oncological, and surgical patients, as well as pregnant women.
